Class Schedule for summer 2008
Please note:
We
pride ourselves on small class sizes; please
register early to insure your spot.
- A 50% non-refundable
deposit is required when registering. Balance of
class fee must be paid first class night.

Class
materials must be purchased at Neighborhood
Knits Class
fees do not include price of supplies unless noted. A
10% discount is
offered for yarns purchased for your class project (Kits,
patterns, books, and needles excluded).

If
a class is canceled due to inclement weather or
instructor illness we will schedule a make up session.

Classes
may be cancelled at discretion of teacher if minimum
class size is not met.
Beginning
Knitting:
6 weeks - $60
Lazy
summer days are a perfect time to learn how to knit!
Learn how to knit and purl, increase, decrease, cable,
and other stitches at your own pace. This is a great
class for beginners as well as those who would like to
increase and improve on their knitting skills.

II

Expand
your knitting skills knitting a child’s top-down
sweater on a circular needle and gain confidence to move
onto larger items.

This bag would make a perfect diaper bag,
knit bag or all-purpose fun tote to carry all those important

Felting Exploration

your own needle felted designs. Stop in the shop for
ideas and kits.

Socks, Socks, and more Socks
Beginning socks
4 weeks - $45
Join the sock craze and learn how to control 4
needles, turn a heel using short rows and close the toe
using the Kitchener
stitch. After this class you will be hooked and socks
make great gifts for all the people on your gift-giving
list.

sock resembles a traditional Aran design using a rib and

creating a version where the self-striping yarn creates

Knit this scarf and learn many techniques associated with
lace knitting. Included in class fee is a fabulous

Come
and refresh why a gauge is so important to fitting and
learn what a pattern is telling you.

Explore Cast on’s, Bind off’s and Finishing Tech. Workshop
$35 session
Add
to your knitting skills by trying new cast on and bind
off techniques. Learn to finish your knitted garments
correctly so they look ‘hand-made’ not
‘home-made’.

Hand Embroidery Workshop

In
this class learn various hand embroidery stitches to
embellish a knitting accessory bag. Take your knitting
from “ho hum” to “wow”!

Knit Tip…….
When weaving in tails:
1. Always
change direction at least once.
2. Wait
until your project is just the way you want it before you weave.
3. Don’t
weave in tails that are on a seam until after the seam
is joined, because you can use the tails to join and
you can hide the ends in the seam.
4. Don’t weave in the tails of yarn used to join
pieces until you’re sure that whatever you.
